Kubernetes Engineer

[Company Name] is looking for a Kubernetes Engineer to design, build, and maintain our container orchestration platform. You will ensure that our workloads run reliably, scale efficiently, and are deployed safely across environments. This role suits engineers who are passionate about cloud-native infrastructure and enabling development teams to ship with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters across development and production environments
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized application deployments
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for cluster health and application performance
  • Define and enforce security policies, RBAC, network policies, and pod security standards
  • Optimize cluster resource utilization, autoscaling, and cost management
  • Create and maintain Helm charts, Kustomize configurations, and GitOps workflows
  • Support development teams with containerization best practices and troubleshooting

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience managing Kubernetes in production environments
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture (control plane, kubelet, etcd, networking)
  • Experience with container runtimes (Docker, containerd) and image build pipelines
  • Proficiency with Helm, Kustomize, or similar templating and packaging tools
  • Familiarity with GitOps tools (ArgoCD or Flux)
  • Experience with cloud-managed Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, or AKS)
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes networking (Ingress controllers, service mesh, CNI plugins)
  • Comfortable with scripting in Bash, Python, or Go

Nice-to-Have

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Experience with service mesh implementations (Istio, Linkerd, or Cilium)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Crossplane, or Pulumi)
  • Background in multi-cluster or multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments
  • Experience with Kubernetes operators and custom resource definitions (CRDs)
