Cloud Engineer

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for architecting secure and cost-effective cloud environments, migrating workloads, and ensuring our infrastructure meets the needs of a growing engineering organization. This role requires deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform and a strong understanding of networking, security, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi for repeatable and auditable deployments
  • Design and manage networking architecture including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, and DNS
  • Optimize cloud spending through reserved instances, right-sizing, and cost monitoring tools
  • Implement cloud security best practices including IAM policies, encryption, and compliance controls
  • Support cloud migration projects — assess workloads, plan migrations, and execute lift-and-shift or re-architecture
  • Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams on deployment automation and reliability

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure (multi-cloud experience is a plus)
  • Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
  • Experience designing and managing cloud networking (VPCs, peering, transit gateways, CDNs)
  • Understanding of cloud security principles (IAM, least-privilege, encryption at rest and in transit)
  • Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, Cloud Functions, Azure Functions)
  • Familiarity with cost management and FinOps practices
  • Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go

Nice-to-Have

  • Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud strategies
  • Knowledge of cloud-native databases (DynamoDB, Cloud Spanner, CosmosDB)
  • Experience with landing zone frameworks (AWS Control Tower, GCP Organization Policies)
