Location: New York (main office location) or remotely from anywhere, but need to be available during work hours on EST timezone.

About the role

We’re a fast-growing startup building [one-line product/category description]. We’re looking for a Sales Manager to own and scale our revenue engine: generate pipeline, run full-cycle sales, and help establish repeatable processes as we grow.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys ambiguity, moves quickly, and can combine strong deal execution with building the foundations for a scalable sales function.

What you’ll do

  • Own the sales cycle end-to-end: prospecting, discovery, demos, proposals, negotiation, and close.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline using outbound, inbound, partners, and networks.
  • Qualify opportunities rigorously (ICP, use cases, budget, stakeholders, timelines) and forecast accurately.
  • Develop sales collateral and messaging in collaboration with founders/marketing (decks, one-pagers, case studies).
  • Run discovery to translate customer needs into clear value propositions and ROI narratives.
  • Work closely with Product and Customer Success to ensure smooth handoffs, onboarding, and retention.
  • Establish lightweight sales operations: CRM hygiene, deal stages, activity metrics, and playbooks.
  • Identify patterns from calls and feedback to improve positioning, pricing, packaging, and product roadmap.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years in B2B sales (SaaS/startup experience preferred), with a record of hitting targets.
  • Strong outbound capability: you can build pipeline from scratch and consistently book meetings.
  • Confident running discovery and demos; strong consultative selling and objection handling.
  • Comfortable negotiating and closing mid-market/SMB deals (or adjacent segment).
  • Solid CRM discipline (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) and structured approach to forecasting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Self-directed, resilient, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience selling into [industry/vertical] or to [personas].
  • Familiarity with PLG motions, channel partnerships, or enterprise procurement.
  • Experience building early sales processes (ICP, sequences, playbooks, metrics).
