Senior .NET Developer
About the Role
Hochgebirge Versicherungs AG is seeking a Senior .NET Developer to join its Commercial Lines Claims IT team in Zurich, Switzerland. This permanent, full-time position serves as a senior individual contributor role focused on the design, delivery, and ongoing maintenance of business-critical claims processing applications that support more than 1,200 internal users and the company’s broker network.
The role sits within the Claims Platform organization and works closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, and claims operations teams to deliver high-impact solutions. The position also contributes to the modernization of the application landscape, including the migration from .NET 6 to .NET 8 and the ongoing decomposition of a legacy monolith.
This is a hybrid position based in Zurich, with an expected schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver business-critical features for the internal claims administration platform in alignment with stakeholder priorities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers through pair programming, code reviews, and documentation.
- Lead architecture discussions and document design decisions for system changes with significant business impact.
- Partner with Business Analysts and claims operations teams to refine requirements and translate them into solution designs.
- Contribute to the evolution of shared libraries, with particular focus on the .NET 6 to .NET 8 migration and the ongoing decomposition of the legacy monolith.
- Participate in the Level-3 support rotation on a one-week-in-six basis.
Required Qualifications
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent vocational qualification combined with comparable professional experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional .NET development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework Core.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Functions, Service Bus, and Key Vault, as well as Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Solid command of relational database design using SQL Server.
- Demonstrable experience leading the modernization of legacy systems.
- Excellent written and spoken German at C1 level or higher.
- Good working English at B2 level or higher.
- Valid Swiss work authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the insurance or financial services domain.
- Experience with Blazor or MAUI.
- Familiarity with BizTalk or other enterprise integration tooling.
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices.

- Base salary of CHF 130,000 to CHF 155,000 per annum, paid across 13 salaries.
