📱 About the Rider Android team

The Rider app is our flagship consumer experience. ~2.4M DAU. The Rider Android team is 11 engineers, organized around five feature pods (booking, payments, maps, offers, identity). You’d join one, probably maps or paymentsdepending on fit.

🎯 What you’ll do

• Ship features in Kotlin + Jetpack Compose. Our feature pods own their modules end-to-end.
• Pair tightly with a backend engineer and designer on each feature. Zippi is a product-led company — you’re part of the product conversation, not a ticket-closer.
• Keep our app’s APK size in check (we care deeply: most users are on entry-level Android on <8 GB storage).
• Own quality of your feature areas: crash-free sessions, critical-path perf, cold-start time.
• Contribute to our shared-module efforts (design system, networking, observability).

🧰 The stack

• 100% Kotlin.
• Jetpack Compose (new), Views still around in older flows.
• Coroutines + Flow.
• Hilt, Room, Retrofit, Moshi.
• Maps: Mapbox (we migrated off Google Maps last year).
• CI: Bitrise + internal distribution tooling.
• Testing: JUnit, Turbine, Roborazzi for screenshot tests.

🙋 We’d love to talk if you

• Have 5+ years of production Android development
• Are fluent in Kotlin + Compose
• Can reason about memory, battery, and APK size, not just “does it work”
• Have shipped apps to the Play Store (ideally with millions of users — but we care more about how than how many)
• Are comfortable debugging ANRs, native crashes, and flaky integration tests
• Communicate clearly in English (the working language across our 3 hubs)

💫 Bonus points

• Experience with payments-adjacent Android work (Google Pay, local wallets, UPI-like systems)
• Mapbox/Maps experience
• Prior work in a regulated SEA market
• Multilingual (we support 10+ languages in the app)

💵 Compensation

For HCMC-based hires:

• VND 90,000,000 – VND 150,000,000 gross/month depending on experience
• 13th month + performance bonus
• Zippi stock options (RSUs after our pending public listing)

For Bangkok-based hires:

• THB 220,000 – THB 360,000 gross/month
• Similar equity + bonus structure

Both locations:

• Private health insurance (self + spouse + 2 children)
• 20 working days paid leave
• Unlimited Zippi credits for rides and food delivery (seriously)
• Visa support where needed
